چکیده

The purpose of the study is to compare SOFA Score and CPIS by using close suction prevent VAP. This a quasi-experiment without control group. Close used as an intervention. score CIPS were evaluate assesses respiratory, platelet, liver, neurology, cardiovascular, renal function. scores range from 0 24 if mean ≥ 6 indicates functioning organ worse. evaluates body temperature, leucosis, sputum secretion, thorax photo, culture endotracheal oxygen saturation. ranges 0-12, more than patient has included 20 ICU patients on ventilators. collected data analyzed percentages, mean, paired t-tests. before after was 4.75 4.1 2.9 2.65 providing suction. significant VAP (p-value < 0.00). effective in with ventilator mechanics, can be measured CPIS.

Ventilator-associated pneumonia: the clinical pulmonary infection score as a surrogate for diagnostics and outcome.

The Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS) was developed to serve as a surrogate tool to facilitate the diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). The CPIS is calculated on the basis of points assigned for various signs and symptoms of pneumonia (eg, fever and extent of oxygenation impairment). Although some studies suggest that a CPIS >6 may correlate with VAP, most studies indicat...

Evaluation of a clinical pulmonary infection score in the diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia

The most important dilemma in the diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) based on only clinical findings is overdiagnosis. The aim of the study is to prospectively evaluate the Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS) in relation to VAP diagnosis. Design. Prospective, in a cohort of mechanically ventilated patients. Setting. The intensive care unit of a university hospital. Patient...
